A look inside the mind of a neurodivergent movie nerd.

Where it all began

The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was “Aladdin,” but the first movie I can vividly remember was “The Lion King.” I can still remember watching Scar throw Mufasa off the cliff and into the wildebeasts, the unfettered joy of “Hakunna Matatta,” and the triumph of Simba roaring atop Pride Rock in victory over his uncle. It was a seminal movie for me. It is the experience I chase every time I step into the theater. I went to college for Journalism in hopes of becoming a movie critic, but since those jobs were few and far between, I became a teacher. Over the past 17 years, I have written and posted on a number of different blogs. This is but the latest incarnation of that.
